As heard on Morning Line: "Aiviq and Nanuq" exhibit

Aaron Leggett from the Anchorage Museum stopped into Morning Line on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, to talk with Danny Preston about "Aiviq and Nanuq: Sea Horse and Sea Bear of the North," an exhibit depicting the walrus and the polar bear.

The museum's curator for Alaska history and culture Leggett says the exhibit looks at the connection humans have to the polar bear and the walrus.

"These two giants are also on the forefront of science and indicators of climate change," Leggett said of the exhibit. "As well as the indigenous knowledge to facilitate the better understanding of our Arctic world."

The exhibit runs through May 12, 2019.

Hailing originally from the Puget Sound region of Washington State, Danny Preston has lived in Alaska for more than 40 years. His career in radio began in 1991, and since 2004 he has hosted KNBA’s Morning Line program. He is also the station’s music director.
