Alex France is a graphics and digital media designer from the Anchorage Museum. She says the theme for Design Week (Monday, Sept. 10 through Sunday, Sept. 15) at the museum is "design is a way of thinking, a way of looking at the world."
"Design is really this purpose and intentionality behind all that we do. This sort of systematic approach that exists behind objects and materials, ways of thinking even," France said. "So Anchorage Design Week and that theme in particular really celebrates the power that design has to approach problems really really creatively and come up with solutions that are not only innovative and effective but are also really applicable to professionals and the public alike. And they're reproducible there are things that everybody can do and it's accessible."
