is the Community Outreach Manager at Koahnic Broadcast Corporation, a Native-governed nonprofit media organization based in Anchorage, Alaska. A proud Yup’ik professional, Kayla began her career at Koahnic as an intern five years ago and now leads outreach, events, and marketing efforts that elevate Indigenous voices nationwide. She holds an MBA with a leadership emphasis from the University of Alaska Anchorage and an Occupational Endorsement Certificate in Alaska Native Business Management. Passionate about storytelling, advocacy, and community connection, Kayla blends her cultural values with a commitment to building strong, mission-driven networks.

Kenzie Sam
Kenzie Sam is Koyukon Athabascan with family from Huslia and Colorado. She graduated from UAA with an associate’s degree in Alaska Native Studies and is working towards a bachelor’s in communications. Kenzie is Koahnic’s Development and Donor Relations Intern, where she spends her time writing up reports, proposals, and letters. When not at work, she spends her time learning new crafts, perfecting old crafts, and gaming all while spending time with loved ones.

Kelly grew up in the Midwest among farms and fertile soils. Outfitted with a B.A. in Communications and a minor in Film Studies, she moved to Nome, Alaska to work for a community-driven, nonprofit radio station. There she became versed in local radio, holding a range of jobs from Program and Music Director to producer and on-air host. Every day she’s in awe of the connection and companionship only local radio provides. When not working, Kelly and her spouse happily spend their time traveling, appreciating the true wild, and creating artsy things.

Cindy is Office Manager for Koahnic Broadcast Corporation. She also is involved with membership, traffic and billing. Originally from California she moved to Alaska in 2007 and has 32 years of experience in broadcast.
