This week on Earthsongs: Lance Canales grew up in Central California where he worked to help his family make ends meet, in agriculture and also employing his gift for training wild horses. The hard labor of his youth comes to his roots-inspired, bluesy Americana music combined with inspiration from the southern gospel style of the Pentecostal church he attended with his mother. The simplicity of Canales’ foot-stomping instrumentation and the strength and grit of his vocals take listeners on a soulful journey in his 2015 release, “The Blessing and The Curse”.
