The Kenai Riverpersonal-use dip-net fishery opened Sunday with unusually high numbers of sockeye salmon. Sockeye returns have been lagging on the Kasilof River. The personal use dip-net fishery is open to Alaska residents only.
Dip-netting is open at the mouth of the Kenai River from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily until July 31, and 24 hours a day at the Kasilof River until Aug. 7. Check Alaska Department of Fish and Game regulations for details.
