Anchorage, AK – House Republicans rejected a continuing resolution to fund the federal government in a fight to defund or delay the 2010 Affordable Health Care Act. Some 13,000 federal employees in Alaska are affected.
Due to sequestration budget cuts, the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is laying off 50 workers, will not fill 44 other vacancies, and is cutting its summer employment program.
