Anchorage, AK – Mine developer Pebble Partnership says mine plan will outline operations, infrastructure, and mitigating measures to reduce impacts.
Arctic Slope Regional Corporation, the North Slope Borough, and the Inupiat Communitiy of the Arctic Slope have filed a notice of intent to sue the federal government over the listing of two populations of bearded seal as threatened. The listing is based on the disappearing sea ice where the seals give birth and nurse pups. Opponents say projections are not grounds for listing.
The Hoonah village Native corporation may build its own cruise-ship dock, close to the site of cultural programs it hosts, and by pass plans for a state-funded city dock.
