Anchorage, AK – The Redistricting Board had wanted to wait for a U.S. Supreme Court decision on provisions of the federal Voting Rights Act before moving forward.
Anchorage Mayor Dan Sullivan has filed a letter of intent with the Public Offices Commission to seek statewide office next year, which allows him to begin raising funds. He hasn't said whether he intends to run for Congress, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, the state Legislature, or local office.
The Rasmuson Foundation has named Sitka weaver Teri Rofkar its 2013 Distinguished Artist, a title that brings with it a $40,000 award.
