Anchorage, AK – For thousands of years, detailed observations about the environment have been passed down by Elders, and that information needs to be recorded, says a tribal advocate. The EPA says it's made incorporation of traditional ecological knowledge a top priority.
Mourners in Juneau performed a Tlingit Mourning Song and a Haida Prayer Song in honor of a 13-year-old slain in the southeast Alaska community of Kake. Vigils were held in several other Southest Alaska communities, Anchorage, and Fairbanks as well.
