A tribal leaders says yes, they cooperate, except in the critically important legal arena, where Edward Thomas says the state constantly battles tribal jurisdiction. Human remains found near McGrath turn out to be prehistoric. Scientific analysis is preliminary but could shed new light on the origins and history of the Athabascan people of Interior Alaska.
