Anchorage, AK – The permitting process is expected to begin soon for the huge gold and copper deposit known as Pebble, loacted in southwest Alaska. Breakup has been hard on Kwethluk, which has been flooded for several days, and Bethel is threatened with floods. North Dakota has passed Alaska to become the nation's second top oil-producing state, trailing only Texas.
