Anchorage, AK – Hunters will be allowed to kill grizzly bears at bait stations in game management units near Fairbanks, Galena, and Tok. Previously bear baiting kills focused on black bears. The number of workplace fatalities in Alaska continues to decline. Top mushers in the Iditarod Sled Dog Race are 130 miles outside the race finish in Nome. The front runners came into Koyuk at speeds of six to seven miles per hour, compared to nine and ten mph and up earlier in the race.
