3/24/11 Newscast - Anchorage Assembly candidates discuss Alaska Native issues; Alaska's jobless rate continues to fall

Anchorage, AK – Alaska Native Brotherhood Camp 87 of Anchorage held a forum for Anchorage Assembly candidates. Panelists asked for candidates' views on homelessness, the Small Business Administration 8A program (which allows Native corporations advantages in bidding for federal contracts), contributions of Alaska Native corporations formed under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, land use in the Village of Eklutna, and revenue sources. Alaska's unemployment rate dropped from 7.8% in Jan. to 7.6% in Feb.
