For the 21st year in a row, Southcentral Foundation is hosting a celebration of health and wellness this weekend.
Southcentral Foundation Event Coordinator Denise Bingham points out, there will be familiar highlights, like Nolan the Inflatable Colon, the non-profit partner services booths, and live entertainment.
There will also be a number of fun additions including Insanity - a popular fitness trend, and a cooking challenge : "This year we have created a cooking competition similar to the TV show "Chopped" - three of SCF's finest will come out and show us what they have with their cooking skills. There will be a mystery basket and they have no idea what's going to be in the basket."
Bingham says the ingredients will feature items found in a traditional Alaska Native food pantry - and will be judged by a panel of celebrity judges including Irene Bedard.
Another innovative highlight is a competition to name the Native Tooth Fairy, who will make their first appearance on the scene this year.
