Alaska Permanent Fund's growth lower than last two years
The Alaska Permanent Fund is doing better than officials had expected. The corporation reported that the fund's investments gained 4.9 percent for the fiscal year ending June 30, leaving the
value of the Permanent Fund at $52.8 billion dollars. That's $1.6 billion up from last year. Acting executive director Valerie Mertz called it a solid performance, given the volatility in the market. The corporation had reported double-digit increases the prior two years.
