Alaska House of Representatives announces plans to appeal the Governor's decision last August to expand Medicaid. A court ruling earlier stated the Governor was acting within his authority to expand Medicaid. Legislative attorneys said a decision to appeal requires a vote by the House and Senate, a vote that wasn't taken.
Concerns have been raised that budget cuts that will reduce the number of food safety and sanitation inspections will lead to food-borne illness outbreaks, and unsafe swimming pools and spas.
