As Heard on Morning Line: The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity

Koahnic Broadcast Corporation

Our guests this morning on Our Community; Actors Enrique Bravo and Richard Jay Carter came to KNBA to talk about an amazing comedic play opening November 9th - The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity - at the Performing Arts Center.

The play is written by Kristoffer Diaz, and directed by Shone Osterhout.

The play's scene is set in the world of professional wrestling - and the Performing Arts Center's set has had to change to make room for the ring!

Bravo and Carter have been practicing hard for this play, which does feature a significant amount of athletics - Bravo says, "Richard is being modest, he's been working out and taking most of the hits, he's practically covered in bruises."

Bravo plays the main character, Macedonio Guerra, a better than the best wrestler, by design.

Mace, his in-ring moniker, loves what he does - artfully losing so the company's main brand, Chad Deity, can continue to get top billing and, most importantly, to the company anyway, fill the seats and the company's bank account.

Despite the overall theme, the social topics covered in this satire run the gamut from race relations and monetization of stereotyping, fandom, geopolitics and capitalism.

The show runs as follows, excertpted from the Perseverance Theatre's website, www.ptalaska.org;
