As Heard on Morning Line: Alaska Native Studies Conference 2017

Since 2012, a group of scholars forming the Alaska Native Studies Council hosts an Alaska Native Studies Conference. 
 
Colleges involved include Ilisagvik College, University of Alaska Anchorage, University of Alaska Fairbanks and University of Alaska Southeast. 
 
This year's theme is "Sustaining Indigenous Livelihoods"
 
 
This year's keynote speech is open to the public, April 8th, the speaker is celebrated leader in Canadian education and human rights Sheila Watt-Cloutier, 
author of "The Right to be Cold," which is also the title of the keynote address.
 
 
The Young Leaders Keynote Panel, Olivia Piyuuk Shields, Samuel Johns and Marjorie Kunaq Tahbone, will present about sustaining their culture and values through different modalities,
