Book fair to feature Alaska Native authors, illustrators and panelists

The Alaska Native Book Fair will feature more than a dozen authors, illustrators and publishers.

KNBA's Tripp Crouse sat down to talk with Joaqlin Estus, a founding member of Alaska Native Media Group, and Alaska Native policy advocate Willie Hensley about writing and the book fair.

The authors include Raina Theile, who is a former Obama White House official. Thiele is Dena'ina Athabascan and Yup'ik. She'll talk about her recently released book "West Wingers," in which she describes her time in the White House and Obama's trip to Alaska.

Alaska Native Media Group is one of the sponsors of the event, which is 1-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium office building, 4000 Ambassador Drive, Anchorage.
