As Heard on Morning Line: March for Science, an Earth Day activity in Palmer

March for Science Palmer AK Facebook Page

Kendra Zamzow is an environmental chemist, and after hearing about the idea of independently organized March for Science events happening across the US, thought, "Why not Palmer?"

This was in mid-February, and since then, organizing the event has been a huge part of her life, outside of work, as she points out this is completely on her own time and resources.

The March for Science Palmer is scheduled during Earth Day, April 22nd and activities start around 2pm - near the Palmer Library.  One of the central parts, Zamzow says, is involvement from the Chickaloon Tribe, with emphasis on Traditional Knowledge and information on local science history.  KNBA plans to check in with the organizers to hear more about these important connections a little closer to event date.
